Previous positions and Education

After a Bachelor and Masters degree in Physics from the Technical University of Munich (GER), I recieved my PhD in Astronomy from Swinburne University of Technology in Melboune (AUS). Since 2018, I am working as a postdoc for the Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg within the Observatory of Strasbourg (FRA).

Publications and Talks

I have published ten refereed papers, for three of which I am the first author. In addition, I led four blog posts on AstroBetter and three ADASS conference proceedings. I frequently contribute talks and posters to international conferences.

Skills and Tools

For my data analysis, I mainly use Python, but also IDL and specialised astronomy software such as Aladin, Topcat, Miriad, CASA and IRAF. I am also an experienced observer using both optical and radio telescopes around the world.

Teaching and Educating

Besides teaching the use of Virtual Observatory tools and services, I also supervise Master and Bachelor projects. I have also worked with interns. While one intern studied web design and redesigned the EURO-VO webpage (soon to go live), most of the interns were still at school and interested in becoming an astronomer.
